Testing task: Navigate from an empty, collapsed combobox to the last option in a listbox popup

With NVDA in focus mode on mode, describe how NVDA behaves when performing task "With focus on the combobox, open the combobox and navigate to the last option in the listbox popup."

Test instructions

  1. Restore default settings for NVDA. For help, read Configuring Screen Readers for Testing.
  2. Activate the "Open test page" button below, which opens the example to test in a new window and runs a script that sets focus on the Combobox.
  3. Press Insert+Space. If NVDA made the browse mode sound, press Insert+Space again to turn focus mode back on.
  4. With focus on the combobox, open the combobox and navigate to the last option in the listbox popup.
  5. Using the following commands, With focus on the combobox, open the combobox and navigate to the last option in the listbox popup.

Success Criteria

To pass this test, NVDA needs to meet all the following assertions when each specified command is executed:

  1. State of the combobox (expanded) is conveyed
  2. Role of the popup ('listbox') is conveyed
  3. Name of the popup ('States') is conveyed
  4. Text of the focused option in the popup ('Wyoming') is conveyed
  5. State of the focused option in the popup (selected) is conveyed
  6. Position of the focused option in the popup (56) is conveyed
