Testing task: Navigate to the first checked radio button in a group

With JAWS in virtual cursor active mode, describe how JAWS behaves when performing task "With focus on the 'Navigate forwards from here' link, navigate to the 'Regular crust' radio button."

Test instructions

  1. Restore default settings for JAWS. For help, read Configuring Screen Readers for Testing.
  2. Activate the "Open test page" button below, which opens the example to test in a new window and runs a script that sets the state of the first radio button to checked, sets focus on a link before the radio group, and hides the group heading.
  3. Press Alt+Delete to determine which cursor is active. If the PC cursor is active, press Escape to activate the virtual cursor.
  4. With focus on the 'Navigate forwards from here' link, navigate to the 'Regular crust' radio button.
  5. Using the following commands, With focus on the 'Navigate forwards from here' link, navigate to the 'Regular crust' radio button.
    • f (virtual cursor active)
    • a (virtual cursor active)
    • Down Arrow then Down Arrow (virtual cursor active)

Success Criteria

To pass this test, JAWS needs to meet all the following assertions when each specified command is executed:

  1. Role 'group' is conveyed
  2. Name of the group, 'Pizza Crust', is conveyed
  3. Role 'radio button' is conveyed
  4. Name of the radio button, 'Regular crust', is conveyed
  5. State of the radio button, 'checked', is conveyed
  6. Position of the radio button, 1, is conveyed
  7. Number of radio buttons in the group, 3, is conveyed
