Testing task: Navigate to the previous checked radio button

With JAWS in virtual cursor active mode, describe how JAWS behaves when performing task "With focus on the 'Deep dish' radio button, navigate to the 'Regular crust' radio button."

Test instructions

  1. Restore default settings for JAWS. For help, read Configuring Screen Readers for Testing.
  2. Activate the "Open test page" button below, which opens the example to test in a new window and runs a script that sets focus on the second radio button, and checks the first radio button.
  3. Press Alt+Delete to determine which cursor is active. If the PC cursor is active, press Escape to activate the virtual cursor.
  4. With focus on the 'Deep dish' radio button, navigate to the 'Regular crust' radio button.
  5. Using the following commands, With focus on the 'Deep dish' radio button, navigate to the 'Regular crust' radio button.
    • Shift+f (virtual cursor active)
    • Shift+a (virtual cursor active)
    • Up Arrow (virtual cursor active)

Success Criteria

To pass this test, JAWS needs to meet all the following assertions when each specified command is executed:

  1. Role 'radio button' is conveyed
  2. Name 'Regular crust' is conveyed
  3. State 'checked' is conveyed
  4. Position of the radio button, 1, is conveyed
  5. Number of radio buttons in the group, 3, is conveyed
